Instead, we act as a trusted local partner for international space and geospatial technology companies entering Australia — supporting market entry, local representation, partnerships, and go-to-market execution across government, defence, and industry.
Where appropriate, Orbivis works alongside established data providers and platforms to enable access to satellite data and analytics as part of broader partnerships and solution delivery, rather than resale.
Experience and Background
Founded by Maurice Borer, Orbivis builds on more than two decades of international experience across the geospatial, Earth observation, and space technology domains. Maurice has led regional market development, strategic partnerships, and innovation initiatives across Australia, Asia, and the Middle East — helping organisations harness the value of spatial intelligence for improved decision-making.
Before establishing Orbivis, Maurice held senior commercial and technical roles with leading global satellite operators, geospatial technology providers, and major distributors of geomatics and GIS solutions. His experience spans direct and channel sales, partner ecosystem development, SaaS and analytics platforms, and the integration of advanced mapping and spatial technologies for government, Defence, and industry clients.
Beyond his core background in satellite EO and geospatial intelligence, Maurice’s broader career has provided substantial exposure to Australia’s sovereign space research and innovation capability across the full space technology spectrum — including PNT, SSA, space communications, robotics and automation, AI-enabled space systems, advanced materials, and emerging access-to-space technologies. This cross-domain insight underpins Orbivis’s ability to position geospatial intelligence within the broader space innovation ecosystem and advise clients beyond EO alone.

Orbivis combines deep technical understanding with hands-on industry knowledge across GIS, land-surveying, remote sensing, SAR analytics, GNSS-enabled mapping, subsurface and infrastructure monitoring, and space-based intelligence. This broad foundation enables clients to navigate the fast-evolving landscape of geospatial and satellite technologies — from high-resolution SAR to AI-driven analytics and digital twin integration.
